The Human Rights Action Center (HRAC) creates awareness of human rights abuses around the world and calls attention to the role citizens can play in holding governments responsible. HRAC is a non-profit organization engaged in human rights work around the globe.

UDHR. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights became the world standard for human rights on December 10, 1948. The United Nations affirms, “It sets out, for the first time, fundamental human rights to be universally protected and it has been translated into over 500 languages. The UDHR is widely recognized as having inspired and paved the way for, the adoption of more than seventy human rights treaties, applied today on a permanent basis at global and regional levels (all containing references to it in their preambles).” HRAC advocates the US Government print the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in US Passports.

We encourage citizens to express their concerns about human rights to your government. By sending a written letter to your local government representative, you can help raise awareness on human rights issues that matter to you.
