Provide at least 50% of the world's population with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
Why? The Declaration is a set of
universal freedoms. It provides a framework for a revitalized human rights movement—one that will address political, economic, and social needs through grassroots action.
Most people are unaware of the depth of the Declaration's concept of human rights and the wide scope of issues that the Declaration's 30 articles address and guarantee. The
Declaration sets a common standard of achievement that can address the needs of a new generation that faces declining resources, increasing political tension and factionalization, and growing cultural and religious intolerance.
How? Our plan is to
get the Declaration of Human Rights printed in the passports of every country around the world. This would make the Declaration reachable to the vast majority of human beings who currently have no access to this document.
Our goal is to have it printed in the passports of all countries, but even to be successful with one country is an enormous leap in progress.
You! What can you do? You can play an important role in communicating this need for the spread of knowledge about the Declaration. Write a letter to the United Nations, or your president to stress the need for universal access to the Declaration of Human Rights.
